We recently refurbished a Air Handling Unit (AHU) for a leisure centre in Louth Works involved:
Removing existing centrifugal fan set up, cleaned section, installed checker plate flooring, installed new EC fan arrangement and electrics.
Benefits to the customer for swapping to EC fans rather than centrifugal fan drives are:
Energy Efficiency: EC fans have built-in variable speed control and higher efficiency compared to traditional AC centrifugal fans.
Better Control: Speed control is more precise with EC fans, as they can be modulated via 0-10V signals or Modbus/BACnet communication.
Lower Noise Levels: EC fans generally produce less noise due to their design and ability to run at optimised speeds.
Compact Design: EC fans are often more compact, making them ideal for retrofit applications.
Reduced Maintenance: They have fewer moving parts and no belt-driven components, reducing wear and maintenance costs.
