FGas and ODS Gas are both used in Air Conditioning Systems and Water Chillers for refrigeration.  The E.U. has introduced new laws to control both fluorinated greenhouse gas (FGas) and Ozone Depleting Substances (ODS Gas).  As an owner of equipment that contains these gasses you need to be aware of the legislation and comply with them.  Anything from gas leaks to replacing the gas in covered in the new law and is the EU’s next step in reducing these threats to the environment.

These gasses are found in air conditioning, heat pumps, fire suppression water chillers and other refrigeration units.  As an owner of such equipment you should:

• Hold a complete list of all equipment that contains this gas.
  
  
• Each piece of equipment must have a label stating the type and quantity of gas contained.
  
  
• Ensure that all equipment is regularly checked for leaks and remember that leaks also cost you money.
